SWR/Power meters test the connection between your two way radio and your antenna for proper impedance and SWR. Antenna analyzers check antennas for resonant frequency. High SWR caused by an improperly tuned antenna or simple water and/or corrosion intrusion will cause poor performance and eventual failure of two way radio equipment. An improperly tuned antenna is the number one cause for two way radio failure. Proper testing and measuring with a simple inexpensive SWR meter can potentially save you a giant headache in the future; not to mention thousands of dollars in replacement costs.
